Studies show that aluminium cans are the highest beverage containers in the world

According to the latest research, aluminum cans are the beverage containers with the highest recovery rate in the world. The study was commissioned by the Tank Manufacturers Association (CMI), Beverage Can Manufacturers Europe (BCME) and Brazilian Abralatas.

The study concluded on the basis of global data collection and verification of global recycling rates for aluminum, pET and glass beverage containers. The results showed that the average aluminum recovery was 69%, the average pET recovery was 43%, and the average glass recovery was 46%.

The study involved 82% of the global aluminum can market (including 21 countries), 79% of the global pET material container market (including 23 countries) and 79% of the global glass container market (including 22 countries).

As the Institute found, the recovery rate of aluminum in Brazil is 98%, in Poland it is 79%, in Japan it is 77%, in Italy it is 72%, and in the United States it is 55%.

Referring to the results of this study, Arne Johnson, RRS vice president, said: "Recycling rates of beverage containers in 25 countries, accounting for 80% of the global market, have been reviewed and validated by the RRS data analysis team. Calculated, RRS found that aluminum beverage containers are the world's highest recovery containers."

The President of the Tank Manufacturers Association (CMI), Robert Budway, said: "As of now, aluminum cans are still the highest beverage containers in the United States."

He also added: “Although we often have confidence in our statements about the world, we still need a third party proof. We hope that global beverage companies and consumers can recognize the importance of recycling this valuable material. ."

Gordon Shade, CEO of European Metal Packaging, said that this is beneficial to the recycling of aluminum cans. This is especially good news for consumers, who can contribute significantly to the recycling of this material through the intentional and responsible behavior of consumers.

Renault Castro, Brazil’s CEO of Abralatas’ salary, said that the study reaffirmed the outstanding characteristics of aluminum cans and showed that aluminum packaging has a very good competitiveness and environmental advantages, especially in today’s global warming is becoming a worldwide concern. This is even more so in the background.

About 75% of the aluminum materials produced in the past are still used today and their quality has not been reduced. This is the best evidence for the permanent and strongest cyclic characteristics of aluminum products. This is a very encouraging report. At the same time, it also opens up new channels for maintaining the status of aluminum main materials and enhancing the environmental friendliness of aluminum.
