1 Introduction
The ternary impeller is a key component of centrifugal air compressors, single-stage high-speed blowers, steam compressors and other equipment. It transfers fluid (clean air, water vapor) by rotating work and boosts the static pressure of the delivered fluid to the system. The pressure required. The efficiency of the equipment depends largely on the selection of the ternary impeller, the design and manufacturing level of the blade profile. The single-stage high-speed blower and steam compressor are the core equipments of the exhaust gas desulfurization system and the MVR wastewater evaporation system, respectively, which play a key role in the overall efficiency of the complete equipment.

At present, the five-axis linkage machine tool is used for the profile processing of ternary impeller blades at home and abroad. Our company is a specialized enterprise in the manufacture of compressor products. At present, it has introduced German Hammer C40U/C50U, Germany Ogilvy GS650, Switzerland. Five-axis machine tools such as the Strag STC1000/STC1250.
Hamer C series five-axis machining center is a vertical, table swing (cradle) machine tool with good rigidity, good stability and high processing precision. The Strag STC series five-axis machining center is a horizontal and spindle head swinging machine with large spindle power and strong load carrying capacity. Our company is based on the different characteristics of these two types of machine tools for production equipment configuration.
2. Introduction to Hammer C50U Machine
(1) CNC system of machine tool: Hammer C50U machine adopts HEIDENHAIN iTNC 530 CNC system and 15-inch TFT color display.

(2) Configuration of the machine tool: The Hammer C50U adopts a monolithic cast bed, and the A and C axes are integrated with the bed body through a special design. This design allows Hammer's machine tools to achieve a large load-bearing capacity, and the C50U can achieve a load-bearing capacity of 2 000 kg. Moreover, the rigidity, stability and geometric accuracy of the machine tool are greatly improved. At the same time, in terms of maintenance, since the A-axis is installed outside the bed, the guide rail is installed on the upper part of the bed, which makes maintenance and use convenient, and the failure rate is relatively low.
The linear axes X, Y, and Z strokes are 1 000 mm, 1 100 mm, and 750 mm, respectively. The corresponding linear rapid traverse speeds are 60 m/min, 60 m/min, 55 m/min, linear acceleration is 6 m/s2, and spindle speed is 12 000 r/ m in, the cradle flip angle is from -130° to 100°.
3. Introduction to Strag STC1000 Machine
(1) CNC system of the machine tool: The Strag STC1000 machine adopts the Sinumerik 840D sl CNC control system with integrated PLC. Computer numerical control (CNC) uses SINUMERIKMDynamics five-axis milling technology, which includes five-axis machining spline check (A, B and C splines), look-ahead (Look-ahead) function, dynamic pre-control function and other functions. The operating system uses WIN-XPProEmbSys, 19-inch flat operating panel OP015A, with 15-inch TFT color LCD (membrane keyboard).
(2) Configuration of the machine tool: The machine tool is equipped with an exchange working platform with a tray size of 1 000 mm × 1 000 mm and a central load capacity of 3 000 k g. The working spindle speed is 20~8 000r/min, the maximum torque is 940N·m, the spindle front bearing diameter is 95mm, and the motor rated power is 37kW. The A-axis speed is 6min-1, the rated torque is 4 000N·m, and the turning area is +60° to -100°. The linear axis X, Y, and Z strokes are 1 700 mm, 1 600 mm, and 1 950 mm, respectively.

As can be seen from the machine configuration, the Strag STC1000 machine is more convenient to install the impeller workpiece, and the workbench has a large carrying capacity. The machine tool spindle has relatively good rigidity and large motor power, which is suitable for heavy-duty machining of large impellers.
4. Different characteristics of the two types of machine tools in actual use
The five axes of a five-axis machine are usually composed of three linear axes plus one rotary axis and one swing axis. The structure is quite different. Different structural forms can cause some differences in the rigidity, dynamic performance and accuracy stability of the machine.
The five-axis linkage machine is divided into two types according to the swinging mode of the swing shaft, one is the spindle head swing, and the other is the table swing. The Hammer C50U is a typical vertical five-axis machining machine with a table swing. The Strag STC1000 is a horizontal five-axis machining machine with a spindle head swing.
The comprehensive features of Hammer C50U machine tools:
The spindle has good rigidity and high machining efficiency; the tool clamping length is relatively short; the feeding direction of the spindle and the rotation center of the tool always coincide during machining, and the shape error is small; the five-axis machining and the three-axis machining of the table swinging mode can be processed. The dimensions of the part in the horizontal direction are the same, and the five-axis linkage does not reduce the machining stroke.
However, for impellers with large diameters and heights, there is a problem of reliability of workpiece mounting (table swing), and there is also a problem of table swing and tool interference.
The comprehensive features of the Strag STC1000 machine tool: the mechanical drive spindle is used, so the spindle has good rigidity; the machine space is large, and the installation of the large impeller is convenient, stable and reliable. When the machine tool is machining, the spindle swings the angle and eats the stroke in the swing plane, which results in the smaller workpiece size that can be processed during the five-axis machining. Considering that the spindle headstock is in the spindle and the tool swings, it is possible The workpiece tray interferes, so the tool holder used will be relatively long, and the direction of rotation of the impeller will be different. The distance to avoid the spindle head will be different.
5. Differences in processing technology
The difference in the processing of the three-element impeller is evident on different machine tools.
The Hammer C50U machine is suitable for processing three-dimensional impeller diameters of φ 450 ~ 850mm. Since the spindle of the machine tool is an electric spindle, the spindle bearing is a ceramic bearing. When the ternary impeller is thickly opened, if the process adopts large feed and heavy load cutting, it will cause damage to the machine spindle and affect the accuracy and service life of the machine.
In the selection of the tool holder, the side-fixing holder is generally selected to meet the requirements during roughing.
The ternary impeller suitable for machining the Strag ST C1000 machine is about 800 to 1 250 mm in diameter. The machine tool spindle adopts the mechanical transmission mode, and the partition large feed and heavy load cutting can be selected during the rough machining of the ternary impeller. When roughing, the tool holder should be selected with a custom long handle and a screw head to ensure the overall rigidity of the tool.
6. Conclusion
Hamer C40U/C50U table swinging five-axis machining machine is suitable for processing three-dimensional impeller with small diameter. The machine tool has good stability, high processing efficiency and reliable precision. Strag STC1000 machine tool is suitable for processing three-dimensional impeller with slightly larger diameter. The workpiece is installed stably and reliably, and the machine tool can perform heavy-duty cutting.
