The PTFE packing is made of pure PTFE fiber and is not treated with PTFE emulsion and lubricating grease. There are four main aspects that affect the quality of PTFE packing:

1. Size range:

Another factor that affects the effectiveness of PTFE packing is its size choice. We emphasize that the size should be avoided larger than the standard size. GT5110 PTFE packing can work in less than or equal to the standard size. 2. Woven density:

The most critical factor affecting the performance of fiber woven PTFE packing is its weaving density. What we can do at present is to suggest that, for most applications, we should use those woven PTFE packings that are as closely and regularly weaved as possible, which will produce the best results for specific applications. Experience tells us that tightly woven PTFE packing not only resists wear and extrusion, but also does not deform at elevated temperatures, which reduces the adjustment of PTFE packing and effectively controls leakage.

On the other hand, loose weaving of PTFE packing will lead to an increase in the length of PTFE packing per pound. This does not mean that users who use these loose PTFE packings will benefit from it. On the contrary, in the actual packing process, filling the stuffing box will consume more of this loose filler, so the theoretical savings of aramid fiber packing cannot be achieved. In fact, maintenance costs will also increase with the replacement of PTFE packing and downtime. An effective way to increase the density of PTFE packing is for the manufacturer to compress the tightly packed PTFE packing again. This will make the PTFE packing more compact and evenly flat, and the four corners are at right angles.

3. The integrity of performance components:

After considering the performance standards of PTFE packing, GT5110 fiber was carefully designed. In a pure environment, its experimental indicators are all optimal. The end user should pay attention not to add extra lubricant when overhauling the PTFE packing, which will make the original excellent performance of the PTFE packing not fully exerted. Because this will increase the weight of the PTFE packing and reduce the plasticity, the PTFE packing will lose its impact resistance and the maintenance cost will increase accordingly.

4. Weave integrity:

Although some PTFE packings are braided and jacketed. However, in many applications, the weaving of GT5110 fibers is done in the form of a through-weave. Because this structure is suitable for GT5110 fiber, it has the most significant effect in the field of pump sealing. Of course, if we ignore the design of the weaving through the heart, the PTFE packing will cause the strands to break and lose the weaving effect when the tensile stress is applied.
