British companies develop smart gloves and wave their hands to pay their bills

Barclaycard is currently testing the smart glove in the UK and is expected to start selling to consumers in 2015. Mike Saunders, head of the company's digital consumer payment division, said that if the test finds that smart gloves are popular, it will bring more convenience to the full-fledged Christmas shoppers.

Non-contact technology has become increasingly popular in recent years. At present, there are 45 million non-contact cards in the UK, and 300,000 places can be paid using non-contact payment methods. Barclaycard claims that currently available non-contact card readers are compatible with gloves without modification.
A micro-contactless chip is implanted in the glove and can be connected to a credit or debit card for purchase of goods under 20 pounds (about 195 yuan) without entering a PIN code. Gloves also have a touch screen function, and shoppers can use their phones with gloves.

In addition, Barclaycard is considering the construction of smart gloves for men and women in different styles.

Wearable technology is booming, and consumers want these devices to be easier to wear, more stylish, and more functional.
